Located in Kowloon Park, the Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre has been through several incarnations in its history, such as the Whitfield Barracks from 1860-1867 and the Hong Kong Museum of History from 1983-88.

The fusion of early 20th century British architectural style with local technology and climate in the Barracks' design encapsulated the cross-cultural spirit of Musicus Fest. The concert program featured an interesting blend of instruments from East and West, performing music from classical Beethoven to a world premiere of commissioned work, "The Living Curio" by Lawrence Lau.
