Promote Cross-cultural Collaboration of Music Internationally

Musicus Society and the English Chamber Orchestra collaborate in their first Hong Kong – London Exchange Tour

06.28.2024
(28 June 2024 – Hong Kong) Musicus Society is extending its strategic partnership with the world-renowned English Chamber Orchestra (ECO) this summer. The two musical institutions will co-host a week-long cultural exchange tour in London between 3–9 July 2024. Nine bright students aged 11 to 17 have been selected from Musicus’ Ensemble Training program to travel to London, joining UK students in a string ensemble to be coached and guided by musicians from the ECO. The highlight of the tour is a public concert to be held at St. Paul’s Church in Covent Garden on Sunday, 7 July 2024.

The tour is designed to promote cross-cultural music collaboration while elevating young students’ performance standards. During the week, students will undergo intensive training and rehearsals, and visit important cultural venues and landmarks, including the Royal Albert Hall, Royal College of Music, Royal Festival Hall, River Thames, and Covent Garden.

General Manager of Musicus Society Wendy Chung said, “For our aspiring musicians, studying with an outstanding orchestra of international fame and gaining cross-cultural exposure with their counterparts from the UK are sure to be an enriching and holistic musical education experience. We hope that immersing in a musical culture abroad will inspire them further.”
